The National Association of Economists and Accountants of Cuba (ANEC) and the Association of Economists of Latin America and the Caribbean (AEALC) hereby call for participation in the XV International Meeting of Economists on Globalization and Development Problems will be in Havana, May 12–15, 2026. The meeting is based on the seriousness of the current economic and social situation in a world undergoing transformation, where ongoing changes in geoeconomic and geopolitical interactions are generating a reconfiguration of power at the global level. The persistence of a deep crisis characterized by low economic growth, trade tensions, erosion of the multilateral system, weak investment, increasing economic, technological, and social asymmetries, progressive environmental deterioration, and conflicts threatening wars of alarming proportions, among others, compel rigorous and in-depth analysis to generate debate aimed at seeking alternatives to confront the current reality and options that lead toward the path of sustainable development.
