Geneva, February 23, 2026. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, carried out an intense agenda on his first day of stay at this United Nations headquarters.
He addressed the UN Human Rights Council and the Conference on Disarmament. He met with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, and with the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk.
He held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Venezuela, Yván Gil Pinto; South Africa, Ronald Ozzy Lamola; Angola, Téte António; Maldives, Abdulla Khaleel; Indonesia, Sugiono; Senegal, Cheikh Niang; and the Deputy Foreign Minister of Portugal, Ana Isabel Xavier. He also exchanged greetings with the President of Timor‑Leste, José Ramos-Horta, and the Foreign Minister of Cameroon, Lejeune Mbella Mbella.
The head of Cuban diplomacy also participated in the high-level meeting of the Group of Friends of the UN Charter. At the end of that meeting, the high dignitaries of the 18 countries that make up the group approved a strong Special Declaration of solidarity with Cuba and rejection of the aggressive escalation by the United States against the Caribbean nation.
