Wellington, February 24, 2026.- Heads of Mission of the Latin American and Caribbean Group (GRULAC) accredited in New Zealand held a working meeting at the Residence of Colombia in an atmosphere of cordiality and cooperation, reflecting the longstanding ties among our countries.
The meeting strengthened coordination, integration, and complementarity among the Latin American and Caribbean diplomatic corps, based on mutual respect and shared interests.
Participants emphasized that these regular meetings provide a valuable space to harmonize perspectives, exchange experiences, discuss the various contexts in which we carry out our work, and remain updated on regional and international issues of common interest, contributing to more effective and coherent diplomatic action.
They also highlighted that this mechanism reaffirms the principle of unity in diversity that characterizes Latin America and the Caribbean — a region rich in cultures, histories and national realities, yet united by shared values, cooperation, and commitment to multilateralism.
Heads of mission agreed on the importance of continuing to promote joint initiatives in the cultural, academic, economic, and political spheres, and of projecting an increasingly visible regional presence in New Zealand.
