Accra. 6 September. – The Ambassador of the Republic of Suriname to the Republic of Ghana and Dean of the Caribbean Diplomatic Corps accredited to the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Ms. Fidelia Graand-Galon, openly expresses her affection for Cuba and takes particular pride in noting that her name holds deep personal meaning, having been chosen with intention.
In a conversation with her Cuban counterpart, H.E. Mr. Julio Enrique Pujol Torres, on the occasion of the 3rd "Diplomatic Corps Family Day Out", the Caribbean diplomat reaffirmed her fondness for the Greater Antilles and for the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
For his part, Ambassador Pujol Torres underscored the longstanding historical ties binding both nations and highlighted their shared role within Caribbean Community (CARICOM). He further referred to the initiatives that the Embassy will undertake in commemoration of the centenary of the birth of the Commander-in-Chief.
