Grenadian Media Outlets publish Cuban Health Minister’s Statement denouncing the energy blockade

Three Grenadian media outlets published the article by Cuban Minister of Public Health José Ángel Portal Miranda, which was recently published in *El Heraldo de México*. The original text denounces the effects of the energy blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba and its direct impact on the healthcare system.

The outlets in question are The New Today, Now Grenada, and The Grenadian Voice. These media outlets shared the aforementioned article, in which Portal Miranda explains how Washington’s coercive measures seek to suffocate the Cuban people by restricting access to essential resources for hospitals and healthcare centers.

In his text, the minister emphasizes that, despite the energy blockade, the Cuban healthcare system has remained resilient thanks to the strength of primary care and the use of tools such as telemedicine. Portal Miranda emphasizes that public health is a fundamental human right that should not be conditioned by political disputes or by the use of energy as a tool of pressure, and calls on the international community to denounce the real impact of sanctions on the lives of millions of people.
