Lautoka, April 16, 2026. - Cuban Ambassador Néstor Torres began his activities in the cities of Nadi and Lautoka with a visit to the Office of the Western Commissioner. Elimi Rokoduru, Planning Officer, gave a detailed presentation on the region, its challenges, and the fundamental importance of its economy and trade at the national level. Néstor, for his part, expressed his gratitude for the welcome and outlined to the official the program of activities to be carried out during his stay in the region, consisting primarily of visits to universities, exchanges with businesspeople linked to Cuba, and meetings with Cubans residing in Nadi.
The Cuban diplomat updated the official on the situation in his country, denouncing the impact of the energy blockade imposed by the U.S. government and the interruption of fuel supplies that affect the daily lives of the Cuban people.
