The Hague, April 18, 2026.—Cuban Ambassador Eva Yelina Silva Walker received a courtesy visit this week from His Excellency Mr. Walid Minkara, Ambassador of the Lebanese Republic to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Both diplomats discussed developments on the international agenda and issues of mutual interest.
On this occasion, Silva Walker updated her counterpart on the grave situation facing Cuba due to the energy blockade imposed by the U.S. government, as well as the devastating consequences this has on daily life on the island. He emphasized that in the face of this collective punishment, the Cuban people offer the noblest and most admirable examples of resistance and maintain their unshakable conviction to defend their sovereignty and independence.
Both interlocutors reaffirmed the bonds of friendship and cooperation that unite their nations.
