Statement by the Delegation of Cuba at the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of Niger. 52nd session of the UPR Working Group of the Human Rights Council

Mr. President,

We warmly welcome the delegation of the Republic of Niger. We recognize that country’s commitment to the Universal Periodic Review and the progress achieved during the last cycle in the promotion and protection of human rights.

We welcome the adoption of Law No. 2022-034 on hygiene and public health, as well as Law No. 2024-034 on social protection for adults.

In a constructive and respectful spirit, we make three recommendations:

1. Continue implementing the Sectoral Programme for Education and Training 2014–2024.

2. Continue strengthening the National Social Protection Policy 2023–2027.

3. Continue promoting cooperation with the human rights treaty bodies.

We wish the Republic of Niger every success in this review and in the implementation of the accepted recommendations.
