Organized by the Iliopouli Retirees Association and the Hellenic-Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity, an event was held to reaffirm solidarity with Cuba and the struggle of its people in the face of persistent and increasingly blatant accusations and threats from the main spokespeople of Yankee imperialism.
The event, which was well-attended and continued despite the rain, took place in one of the municipality's squares. Speakers highlighted the friendship and solidarity of the Greek people, reaffirming that Cuba and its noble people are not alone.
Also speaking at the event was the Cuban ambassador, Aramís Fuente Hernández, who expressed his gratitude for the ongoing solidarity with his people, which intensifies as the United States government strengthens its threats and aggressive policies, imposing an unprecedented collective punishment and seeking to strangle the country by fomenting a humanitarian crisis of vast proportions, in order to bring to its knees the brave and heroic people who have victoriously resisted its aggressions and criminal blockade for more than six decades.
