Executives from “The Gulf Observer” and “The Europe Today” meet with the Cuban ambassador

Islamabad, 25 May 2026. Pakistani writer Muhammad Ali Pasha, the main sponsor of the digital media outlets “The Gulf Observer” and “The Europe Today”, paid a cordial visit to the Cuban Ambassador, Damián Cordero Torres, accompanied by his senior team.

During the visit, they explained in detail to the Cuban Ambassador the initiatives undertaken by these news portals and the importance of digital communication in near real time, in step with current events and new information technologies. In particular, Mr Muhammad Ali Pasha advocated for potential collaborations in the field of culture in general, in all its various forms, aimed at strengthening cultural ties between Cuba and Pakistan. The young artist took the opportunity to present his collection of poems, “Romantic Whispers of the Archipelago”, to the Cuban diplomat.

For his part, Cuba’s highest representative in this country thanked him for the visit and agreed with the Pakistani intellectual on the importance of cultural exchange, as the heritage and fundamental resource of every people, to preserve their identity without succumbing to the neo-colonial cultural imposition of the great powers. In this regard, he commented on the cultural battle that Cuba has always waged, as part of its defence against the US blockade, in favour of its identity and sovereignty, based on Martí’s maxim that trenches of ideas are stronger than trenches of stone.

The meeting was also attended by the editor-in-chief of “The Gulf Observer”, Ms Fatima Tuz Zehra, and the executive director of “The Europe Today”, Mr Malik M. Shafiq, who praised the initiative and highlighted the importance of collaboration with the media.
