Cuban doctors lead Health Fair in Saint George’s

A health fair was held in the city of Saint George’s, where more than a dozen Cuban collaborators provided care to local residents. The initiative allowed numerous people to seek consultations and treatments for various conditions, reaffirming the altruistic vocation of Cuban doctors toward the Grenadian population.

The activity took place alongside a solidarity breakfast organized by members of the Citizens for Cuba campaign, an initiative that since mid‑April has promoted collections and community actions in support of the Island.

This day was attended by several national authorities, most notably Senate President Dessima Williams, a Grenadian leader who has maintained her support for the Cuban cause throughout decades of public service in her country.

Grenadian patients who came to the health fair received on‑site care from professionals in orthopedics, otolaryngology, orthodontics, psychiatry, gynecology, urology, and nephrology. These are, for the most part, critical specialties in which the Grenadian public health system relies on Cuban collaborators to ensure full coverage.

According to Cuban Consul in Grenada, Ariel Pazos Ortiz, the health fair held alongside the solidarity breakfast represented a new opportunity for exchange between the Grenadian community and Cuban collaborators, expressing the sympathy and solidarity shared between both peoples.
