By participating in a Saturday program that included a solidarity breakfast and a health fair in Saint George’s, Grenadian parliamentarian Clarice Modeste expressed her support for the solidarity campaign with Cuba launched last April. The occasion also provided an opportunity for an exchange with Cuba’s Ambassador to Grenada, Yadirys Echenique Paz.
During the breakfast organized by the Citizens for Cuba campaign, Modeste engaged with its promoters and highlighted the value of initiatives aimed at supporting the Island amid the difficulties derived from U.S. aggression. The Ambassador, for her part, thanked the parliamentarian for her support and emphasized that “solidarity is the force that unites peoples in the face of adversity.”
The health fair, led by more than a dozen Cuban doctors, attracted numerous residents of Saint George’s seeking care for various conditions. Meanwhile, Clarice Modeste’s participation in this space reinforced the bond between Grenadian authorities and the Cuban medical brigade, recognized for decades of dedication and professionalism in the small Caribbean nation.
In a context of increasing U.S. hostility against Cuba and pressures to isolate the Cuban Revolution internationally, the exchange between Grenadian parliamentarian Clarice Modeste and the Cuban Ambassador demonstrates the strength of institutional ties between both nations.
