Jakarta, October 22, 2026. — The Embassy of Cuba in Indonesia participated in the Ministerial Meeting of the 5th World Conference on Creative Economy, an event attended by 51 countries.
During the gathering, the Cuban delegation held an exchange with Indonesia's newly appointed Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, regarding Cuba's interest in this field and potential avenues for bilateral cooperation in the creative and cultural industries sector.
In its address to the plenary, the Cuban representation denounced the intensified blockade, energy siege, and systematic sanctions imposed by the U.S. government against the Cuban people. Likewise, it emphasized that, despite these adversities, the country continues to drive its cultural development thanks to a solid grassroots productive capacity, the international prestige of its artistic movement, and universal access guaranteed by the State.
This project is sustained through a state budget that protects experimental creation and articulates a network of more than two thousand institutions, backed by the steadfast social commitment of its creators and their organic bond with the artistic diaspora.
