Large Jamaican delegation participates at International Fair of Havana FIHAV 2017

KINGSTON, JAMAICA, November 2nd, 2017. A large trade delegation from Jamaica participates at the International Fair of Havana FIHAV 2017, held a Expocuba fairgrounds in the outskirts of Havana.

Jamaica´s delegation is led by Marlene Porter, head of the Market Developing division at JAMPRO, institution that promotes the commercial relations of Jamaica, at the Ministry of Economic Development and Job Creation.

According to members of the Jamaican delegation, their participation in FIHAV 2017 is part of the efforts to develop the program aiming at increasing the bilateral trade relations with Cuba and ratifies the compromise and permanent interest of Jamaica in Cuba´s market.

Almost 20  Jamaican businessmen from six important enterprises and one banking institution, EximBank, attend FIHAV 2017 and they expect, besides the traditional exhibition of their products and services and the exchange with visitors, to celebrate bilateral meetings with Cuban officials and entrepreneurs.

Cuba and Jamaica work to increase the economic-commercial ties. Last July, 2017, a large delegation of Cuban officials and businessmen visited Jamaica following an invitation from JAMPRO. In 2016, Deputy Minister of Foreign  Trade and Investment, Ileana Nunez Mordoche carried out a fruitful official visit to this Caribbean nation.
