Governor General of New Zealand confirms interest in increasing ties with Cuba

The Governor General of New Zealand, The Right Hon. Sir Jerry Mateparae, expressed satisfaction with the good moment in relations with Cuba and confirmed the interest of his country in increasing bilateral ties. His remarks took place during a brief meeting with the Ambassador of Cuba, Mario Alzugaray, on the occasion of the commemoration of Waitangi Day.

The Cuban diplomat, on his part, conveyed his congratulations on the occasion of the 176 anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi and expressed the will of his government to promote further exchanges with New Zealand and Pacific Region.
