Speaker of Parliament of Sri Lanka signs the Book of Condolences on the demise of Fidel Castro

SRI LANKA, November 28, 2016. - The Honorable Karu Jayasuriya, Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka signed the Book of Condolences, opened in the Cuban Embassy on the demise of the Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz.

The Honorable Karu Jayasuriya wrote:

"I express my respects to the great leader of modern times. Fidel Castro was admired by us from childhood. He got up for the common people. He had love and affection for those who needed help.

We admire his achievements, particularly in health and education. He is a true model and active member of the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries. He was a leader in this philosophy.
