Parents of students studying in Cuba paid tribute to the Commander in Chief

SRI LANKA, February 11, 2017. - With a minute of silence in homage to the Commander in Chief of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, began the Annual Meeting of the Association of Parents, whose children study in Cuba for the scholarship plan offered to young people of Low-income families from developing countries, which took place at the Cuban Embassy in Colombo.

The President of the Parent Association, Dr. EJDM A Senavirathne, thanked Cuba for allowing their children to be trained as highly qualified professionals, despite the difficulties facing our country due to the blockade imposed by the United States for more than half a century. He affirmed that the young people, after completing their studies in Cuba, return to Sri Lanka not only as good professionals but also as better human beings, ready to serve the neediest in their country.

Currently, 16 young people from Sri Lanka study at the Latin American School of Medicine in Cuba.
