SRI LANKA, May 18, 2017. - The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, Hon. Mr. Harsha de Silva, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, in the afternoon of today in his office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, both parties discussed issues of bilateral and international interest, as well as highlighted the excellent ties of friendship and cooperation between both countries.
The Ambassador of Cuba expressed her appreciation to the government and people of Sri Lanka for their permanent support to the Cuban resolution against the blockade. She explained that while this remains standing, Cuba will continue to present the resolution in the General Assembly of the United Nations.
At the meeting, Mr. Mahesh Prematilake, Assistant Director of the Foreign Ministry, was also present.
