In the context of the program celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Republic of Cuba, to be marked on 15/5/2018, we visited the provinces of Phetchabun and Chaiyaphum - two models of sustainable production practices of organic Thai silk, both industrial and manual.
The "Chul Thai Silk Group", of Phetchabun, is a counterpart of a project with Cuba in sericulture - with potential for applications in the biotechnology industry. It also combines organic programs of fish farming, production of fruits and meats, as well as environmentally-sound management of lakes and dams.
The exchanges with the Thai counterparts, the farmers and the local communities allowed to share information on the 59th Anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, the six decades of diplomatic relations between our countries, bilateral cooperation in the biotechnology field as a successful example of South-South cooperation; as well as the process of updating the economic and social model of Cuba.
Unforgettable visits of great emotions, full of expressions of affection and appreciation between representatives of two peoples with great mutual admiration.
