The Minister of Tourism of Barbados, Richard Sealy, received Cuban Ambassador, Francisco Fernandez, to evaluate initiatives that are feasible to be applied by both countries in the multi-destination modality, covered by the Memorandum of Understanding signed last December by Cuba and the countries of the Community of the Caribbean (CARICOM). Among the ideas discussed are those of taking advantage of the flow of tourists from South America and from Europe who come to the Caribbean in different ways. In this regard, possibilities were identified that are opened as a result of the recently inaugurated Caribbean Airlines flight from Trinidad and Tobago to Cuba, which feeds on combinations from Barbados, Guyana and Granada, which connects Havana twice a week, as well as the COPA flight between Barbados and Panama announced to operate next summer. The Vice Minister of Tourism, Dona Cadogan, and the Executive Director of the Tourism Marketing Company of Barbados, William Griffith, were present at the meeting. All agreed on the relevance of connecting several destinations of the subregion with the largest island of the Antilles.
