Malaysia and Cuba explore possibilities to develop business relationships

Kuala Lumpur, March 21 – The Ambassador of Cuba to Malaysia, Ibete Fernández Hernández, held a working meeting with Khairul Annuar Abdul Halim, Director of Europe and Americas of the Malaysian Foreign Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).

The ambassador informed the Malaysian counterpart about the updating of the Cuban economic model and the role played by the promotion of investments in it, immediately invited Malaysia to be part of the group of countries that currently invest in the country or conduct business mutually advantageous with Cuba.

For his part, Mr. Khairul expressed interest in exploring the Cuban market as well as particular interests in the construction industry, medical equipment and transportation, for which he proposed to work for the organization of a mission of entrepreneurs visiting the island.

The representative of MATRADE for Cuba, made a visit to our country on the occasion of the International Fair of Havana in 2016, when he had contacts with the Chamber of Commerce, MINCEX and PROCUBA and identified possible areas of collaboration.
