The Ambassador of Cuba to The Gambia, Lázaro Herrera Martinez, visited the new headquarters of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology of The Gambia, where he was received by the head of the institution, Honorable Badara Joof.
On that occasion, both parties exchanged about the possibilities of diversifying collaboration in higher education, taking advantage of the experience accumulated by Cuba in training different specialists. In this regard, the Gambian minister thanked the support offered by the island to his country for many years in different specialties of importance to his country, especially in medical care, and expressed interest to continue strengthening collaboration in this field.
The Cuban ambassador highlighted the interest that the Cuban government gives to professional training and scientific-technical advances as a basis for the development and self-sustainability of the country. He also reiterated the willingness to continue promoting bilateral ties between the two countries and finding new ways to allow mutually beneficial collaboration.
