Fraternal meeting with Ghanaian trade unionists who will participate in May Day in Cuba

The Ambassador of Cuba, Pedro L. Despaigne González held a fraternal meeting with members of the Trade Union Congress (TUC-Ghana), who  will be part of the XIII edition of the May Day International Brigade, to celebrate the International Workers' Day, convened by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP).

The meeting held at the TUC-Ghana´s headquarters, was used to establish a fruitful and enlightening exchange of views on Cuba and on the conditions under which future brigade members will execute the program of activities on the Caribbean island. The Ambassador told them elements of the history of the Central Workers of Cuba (CTC) before the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, as well as providing an update of the role played by this trade union within Cuban society. He also stressed that the celebration of International Workers' Day will be held in Cuba with a new head of the government.

Some members of the TUC-Ghana Executive Committee, represented by the Secretary General, Dr. Anthony Yaw Baah attended the meeting, including the Assistant Secretary-General, Mr. Joshua Ansah and the First Vice-President, Alexander Nyarko Opoku.
