Cuba and Jamaica to increase cultural and sports exchanges

KINGSTON, JAMAICA,  May 11, 2018.  The Minister of State at the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport of Jamaica, Hon. Alando Terrelonge, MA, MP, welcomed the Cuban Ambassador, Inés Fors Fernández, in the venue of this ministry. 

Both authorities expressed the willingness to maintain the efforts to increase the cultural, academic, and sports exchanges. They also dialogued about diverse issues  from the bilateral agenda. 

Ambassador Fors Fernandez congratulated Terrelonge for his designation as Minister of State and wished him success during his tenure at this important ministry. 

Likewise, the Cuban diplomat praised the presentation of the also legislator during the debate of the motion against the Blockade adopted by the Jamaican Parliament last October 31st. 

Furthermore, Terrelonge requested to convey his congratulations to Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez for his election as President of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba. 

The Jamaican Minister of State showed interest to know on the Fire Festival that is celebrated every year in Santiago de Cuba and gathers cultural manifestations from the Caribbean region.
