The Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Marcia Cobas and the rest of the Cuban government delegation she heads were received at the Ministry of Health of Ghana by its Minister, Hon. Kwaku Agyemang-Manu.
In the meeting the parties reviewed the state of cooperation in the field of Health, and especially the performance of the Cuban Medical Brigade, which is working in Ghana since the end of October 2016.
The Cuban Deputy Minister ratified Cuba's commitment to maintain cooperation in that sector and proposed to evaluate new modalities under reciprocal benefits; she also recognized the quality demonstrated by the young Ghanaians who are trained as health professionals in Cuba, and who must return to Ghana with their degrees in 2019.
The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Cuba, Pedro Luis Despaigne González, and the head of the Cuban Medical Brigade, Dr. Ana Lubín García.
