NAYPYITAW, September 18, 2018.- The Minister of Commerce of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Dr. Than Myint, welcomed the concurrent ambassador of Cuba, Héctor Conde Almeida.
In the cordial meeting, also atended by officers of the myanmeno ministry, both sides acknowledged the good path of the bilateral relations and reiterated the mutual will to continue strengthening the friendly ties and cooperation between the two nations.
The Minister confirmed his participation, with a delegation, in the XXXVI edition of the International Fair of Havana (FIHAV 2018), which will be held from October 29 to November 2, this being the first historical participation of the Asian country in this type of events in the largest of the Antilles. The conclave was assessed as an excellent opportunity for the exchange of experiences and for the identification of ways to promote and increase direct bilateral trade with Cuba and other countries in the region.
The Cuban diplomat thanked the Minister, the government and the people of Myanmar for the continued support to the United Nations Resolution on the need to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States government against Cuba.
