With the presence of Aleida Guevara March, the launching of the Thai edition of the memorable book in the popular "Bangkok National Book Fair" commemorated the 90th birth anniversary of Ernesto Guevara de la Serna (Che), the 51st anniversary of his physical disappearance and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Cuba.
The event, which was also a tribute to the Day of Cuban Culture, the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the War of Independence in the largest of the Antilles and the upcoming 60th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, the National Legislative Assembly, Ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps, Cuban residents, institutions with cooperative relations with Cuba and Thai artists.
In Thailand, the image, life and legacy of "Che" Guevara are widely known and much loved. This is the first publication of its kind in Thai language about "Che" from a source so close to him, a story of love and life written in his own words by his beloved wife Aleida March.
Its enlightening content opens the door to Thai readers to perhaps the most distinctive facet of the personality of "Che" Guevara: Love.
In interviews with numerous mass media, Dr. Aleida Guevara denounced the negative impacts of the illegal blockade of the United States government against Cuba, in force for more than 55 years.
