Cuban Ambassador meets with the Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries of Jamaica.

Kingston, Jamaica, 13 February 2019. The Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries of Jamaica, the Honourable Mr. Audley Shaw, C.D., M.P., held a work meeting with the Ambassador of Cuba in that Caribbean nation, H.E. Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, at the headquarters of the Ministry.

The meeting took place in an atmosphere of cordiality and respect, in tune with the excellent relations that for many years exist between both countries. It allowed the parties to reflect on the current state of bilateral cooperation in sectors attended to by the aforementioned Ministry and identify potential areas of exchange.

Mr. Shaw acknowledged the progress made by Cuba in education and health, as well as the cooperation that the Caribbean island has provided to Jamaica in those fields for several decades. Currently, 289 health professionals and 70 teachers render their services in Jamaica.
