Kingston, Jamaica, 20 March 2019. Diane Edwards, president of JAMPRO, the Jamaican government agency for the promotion of trade and investment, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, at the headquarters of the institution.
The meeting, held in a friendly atmosphere, allowed both parties to address the state of economic relations between Cuba and Jamaica and to exchange on the growing interest of companies from both countries to maintain commercial links, based on cooperation and mutual benefits. The Cuban diplomat took the opportunity to invite JAMPRO and all Jamaican companies to participate in the 39th edition of the International Tourism Fair in Cuba (FITCuba) to be held from May 6 to 11, 2019, in Havana. She also reiterated the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment and the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba to the 16th edition of Expo Caribe 2019, to be held from June 19 to 22, 2019, at the Heredia Theater in the city of Santiago de Cuba.
Edwards highlighted her admiration for Cuba, a country she has visited on several occasions. She also invited Cuba to participate in the next edition of the Jamaica International Exhibition, to be held in Montego Bay from May 30 to June 1, 2019.
