The state agency AZERTAC, the newspaper "AZERBAIJAN" and the digital media: Ikisahil, MTC and Uluses, reflected the interview offered by the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, about the V World Forum on Dialogue Intercultural carried out in Baku and had as its motto "Build a dialogue to combat discrimination, inequality and violent conflicts."
The diplomat stressed that the Forum calls on the world to maintain peace and dialogue and thanked the Government of Azerbaijan for the high level of organization of the event.
Nieves Portuondo highlighted that the event has grown since its creation 10 years ago and it has a great importance at this time when in different parts of the world there are calls to war.
The ambassador expressed his confidence that the Intercultural Dialogue Forum will contribute to respect among nations.
The conference was opened by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and was attended by the High Representative of the Alliance of Civilizations of the United Nations, Miguel Ángel Moratinos, the deputy assistant general director of UNESCO for Social Sciences and Human, Nada Al-Nashif, the General Director of the Islamic Organization for Education, Science and Culture (ISESCO), Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, and the Executive Director of the World Tourism Organization, Manuel Butler Halter, among other high-profile personalities .
