Kingston, Jamaica, 28 May 2019. Former Jamaican Prime Minister, the Most Honourable Bruce Golding, visited the Cuban Embassy in Kingston today, where he was received by Ambassador H.E. Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández.
The occasion was propitious to exchange on current issues, in an environment marked by cordiality, mutual respect and friendship.
The Jamaican politician and intellectual was interested in knowing and expressed his concern about the impact of the enforcement of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act and other measures recently announced by the US government to intensify the economic war against Cuba.
It was precisely during the government headed by Mr. Golding (2007-2011) that the Jamaican Parliament approved for the first time a motion demanding the lifting of the US economic, financial and commercial blockade against Cuba. Since then, the Jamaican legislative branch has maintained its position of solidarity with the Cuban people for ten consecutive years.
During the conversation, the former Jamaican Prime Minister recalled moments of his life related to Cuba.
