Kingston, Jamaica, 15 June 2019. In a simple but moving activity presided over by the Ambassador of Cuba in Jamaica, Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, a group of more than fifty Cubans living in Jamaica, members of the Cuban State Mission and Jamaican nationals who are solidary with Cuba, met before the bust of the Titan of Bronze located in the National Heroes Park of this capital to pay tribute to three great figures of our history: the Mother of the Nation, Mariana Grajales Coello; the Lieutenant General of the Liberation Army, Antonio Maceo Grajales, and the Heroic Guerrilla, Commander Ernesto Guevara de la Serna.
The opening remarks were made by the Vice President of the Antonio Maceo Association of Cuban Residents in Jamaica, Mr. Osvaldo Cárdenas, who made a brief biographical sketch of these three figures -whose birthday anniversaries were celebrated last week- and moved the audience with his memories of Che.
As a culmination of the activity, Mrs. Dora Salas Venegas and Mr. Héctor Aguilera Anzardo, on behalf of the more than 350 education and health collaborators working in Jamaica, laid a wreath before the bust built in honour of Maceo.
