Cuba and the United Arab Emirates sign memorandum for visa waiver

Cuba and the United Arab Emirates signed a memorandum of understanding on the mutual exemption of the visa requirement between both countries on Monday at the Cuban Foreign Ministry headquarters in Havana. The beneficiaries of the visa exemption are for Cuban citizens holding diplomatic, official and service passports.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anayansi Rodríguez, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for International Organizations of the United Arab Emirates, Yacoub Yousef Hassan Al Hosani, signed the agreement that will contribute to the development of bilateral relations and will strengthen cooperation in various sectors of mutual interest.

Previously, the Cuban deputy minister and the deputy minister of Emirati held official talks on the good state of bilateral relations and reiterated the will to strengthen ties in areas of common interest and then Al Hosani was received by the interim minister of Foreign Affairs, Marcelino Medina , with which he agreed to continue strengthening bilateral cooperation.

Al Hosani was accompanied at the meetings by the ambassador to Cuba, Bader Almatrooshi, and other members of the delegation, while on the Cuban side the director general of bilateral affairs of the Foreign Ministry, Emilio Lozada, the director of North and Middle Africa, participated. Oriente, Héctor Igarza, and other officials.

During the exchanges both sides agreed on the good state of bilateral relations that are strengthened with the official opening in February 2019 of the Cuban Embassy in Abu Dhabi and reiterated the will to continue working to strengthen ties in areas of common interest .
