Kingston, Jamaica, 29 August 2019. Dr. Katherine Muller-Marin, director of the UNESCO Regional Office for Culture in Latin America and the Caribbean, paid a courtesy call on the Cuban Ambassador to Jamaica, H.E Mrs. Ines Fors Fernández.
During the meeting, held in an atmosphere of cordiality and respect, Dr. Muller-Marin updated the Cuban diplomat on the work carried out by the said Office, including details on some programs, projects and initiatives they promote in the field of culture.
The Cuban ambassador, for her part, expressed her gratitude and commended the work of UNESCO as a platform to contribute to the strengthening of relations among member countries within its areas of competence, where culture and heritage have a special place.
Based in Havana, Cuba, the UNESCO Regional Office for Culture in Latin America and the Caribbean was the first of its kind to establish itself outside the headquarters of the Organization.
