Photographic exhibition on Che's visit to Indonesia

The Cuban Embassy in Indonesia inaugurated a photographic exhibition commemorating the 60th Anniversary of Che's visit to Indonesia, at the headquarters of the National Library of Indonesia.

The graphic sample has materials from the archives of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the collection “Life and Work of Ernesto Che Guevara: from the original manuscripts of adolescence and youth to the Campaign Journal in Bolivia” of the Che Guevara Center, registered in the UNESCO World Register of Memory of the World program.

Che's visit to Indonesia included his meeting with President Soekarno, visits to Bali and the Borubudur Temple, as well as interviews with Suvandrio, Minister of Foreign Affairs and General Abdul Haris Nasution, Minister of Defense.

Ernesto Che Guevara arrived to Indonesia on July 28, 1959, as part of his tour of Asian and African countries. His pleasant impression about this country was reflected in the article "Indonesia and the solid unity of its people" published by the Verde Oivo Magazine on October 26, 1959.

In the context of the 60th Anniversary commemoration of Che's visit to Indonesia, a piano recital was also offered by Lianne Vega Serrano, a Cuban artist invited to Jakarta by the Jaya Suprana School of Performing Art.
