Havana, October 19, 2019.The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, will start a tour of European nations tomorrow before participating in the XVIII Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), which will take place in Azerbaijan, today announced local media.
According to the Granma newspaper, Díaz-Canel's tour includes official visits to Ireland, the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.
After that journey, he will attend the XVIII Mnoal, which will take place in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan on October 25 and 26.
The Cuban head of state is expected to hold official talks with his counterparts of the European countries included in the official program.
Cuba was the only nation in the Latin American and Caribbean region that participated in the first summit of the Nun held in Belgrade, the capital of the then Yugoslavia, in 1961.
This organization was born in September of that same year and the Caribbean country stands out among its founders.
The island has chaired the Mnoal from 1979 to 1983 and from 2006 to 2009.
