Kingston, Jamaica, 18 October, 2019. The Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica, H.E Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, and other officials of that diplomatic mission, held a fraternal meeting with the members of the board of the People's National Party of Jamaica's Youth Organization (PNPWY), namely Krystal Tomlinson, President; Danishka Williams, Vice president, and Jordan McNeil, Secretary of International Relations.
The youth leaders expressed their appreciation for Cuba’s cooperation with Jamaica. They expressed their opposition to the economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba and to the maintenance in Cuban territory - against the manifest will of its people - of the Guantánamo Naval Base. They were also interested in knowing details about Cuban current affairs - such as the impact of the US government’s measures to prevent the supply of fuel to the country, the main changes introduced to the current Constitution with respect to the previous one, and the activities that are being organized to celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the foundation of Havana. They also inquired about the options to travel to Cuba and the possibilities of pursuing higher education in our country.
In turn, the Ambassador took the opportunity to thank the Jamaican youth delegation for the historic solidarity shown by their country towards Cuba.
