BANGKOK, October 28, 2019.- H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand hosted a meeting with the Cuban ambassador, Héctor Conde Almeida, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Cuban diplomat presented Cuba's Report, pursuant to United Nations General Assembly Resolution 73/8, on the need to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States government against Cuba and thanked the support of the people and the government of Thailand for this important claim of the international community.
In the cordial exchange on the agenda of the 74 session of the UN General Assembly, attended also by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Asian nation, the two sides reaffirmed the importance of joint efforts in defense of multilateralism, the sovereignty of States and of maintaining close cooperation in the various multilateral forums, including those related to the achievement of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, South-South cooperation; the Paris Agreement on climate change; as well as support for the United Nations Treaty of total prohibition of nuclear weapons.
