Cuban Ambassador to Ghana reaffirms solidarity with the Saharawi people

The Cuban Ambassador Pedro Luis Despaigne González attended the farewell ceremony organized by the Socialist Forum of Ghana (SFG) to the Ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), Mr. Mahayub Buyema Mahafud, at the headquarters of Pan African Television.

The Coordinator of the SFG, Mr. Kwesi Pratt Jr., said that the dream of continental liberation of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah will be unfinished, as long as there are colonies such as the SADR, whose territory is illegally occupied by Morocco. Ambassador Kojo Amoo-Gottfried also spoke, who highlighted the work done in Ghana by the Saharawi diplomat, and wished him success in his new missions.

The Ambassador of Cuba emphasized the historical ties between Cuba and the SADR, and reiterated that his heroic people can continue to count on the Cuban solidarity. The attendees also expressed their solidarity with Cuba and their rejection of the economic, commercial and financial blockade, imposed on the Cuban people by successive US governments, for six decades.

The activity was enlivened by the band Freedom Band, and broadcast live to 32 countries on the Pan African Television Channel.
