Cuba's Ambassador to Ghana, Pedro L. Despaigne González participated in the Diplomatic and Career Fair at the Legon Centre for International Affairs and Diplomacy (LECIAD) of the University of Ghana.
The Cuban diplomat had the opportunity to present elements on the process of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries, which will turn 60 in the month of December, as well as on the stable behavior of Cuban cooperation towards the Ghanaian people in the spheres of the health and education, which has allowed thousands of young Ghanaians in different sectors of knowledge to be prepared in Cuban classrooms.
LECIAD, which was founded in 1989 at the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ghana, in its 30 years has graduated about five thousand students from different countries, both in M.A. and Ph.D. in international relations. Ghanaian graduates now occupy positions primarily in the country's Foreign Ministry, armed and security institutions, as well as in other private sector positions.
In subsequent exchange with members of the Board of Directors of the Centre, possible cooperation interests between LECIAD and the Higher Institute of International Relations "Raúl Roa García" (ISRI) of Cuba were outlined.
