The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, received in his office in Jubilee House Ambassador of Cuba, Pedro Luis Despaigne González.
During the meeting, held in a fraternal environment, the parties highlighted the positive level of diplomatic relations, which will reach their 60th anniversary on 23rd December. Aspects related to the strengthening of cooperation between the two States were also addressed, including the steps that are being carried out so that another 100 young Ghanaians will study medicine in Cuba. Some moments of his official visit to Cuba last July were remembered.
The Vice President was accompanied by Mr. Kinsgley Agyemang, the Registrar Ghana Scholarships Secretariat; Sr. Augustine Blay, Secretary to the Vice President; Dr. Gideon Boako, Spokesperson for the Vice President; Sr. Samuel Ofosu Boateng, Director/ Foreign Affairs and Diplomacy; Sr. Osei Kwadwo, Technical Advisor; Ms Tina Nyarko and Mr. Nana Adofo Kuranchie, Asst. Directors/ Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration. By the Cuban side also attended the meeting the First Secretary, Julio César Sánchez Martínez, and the Specialists, Raisa Burón Anglada and Eulalia Cárdenas San Martín.
