Nassau, December 13th, 2019. The Cuban ambassador, Alejandro García del Toro met with Obie Roberts, vice president of the Progressive Liberal Party. The current realities and challenges of both countries were among the main topics addressed. The meeting took place at the Cuban embassy.
The Bahamian politician and the Cuban ambassador also exchanged on how climate change impacts the economic and social life of two archipelagos, whose geographical location makes them vulnerable to frequent and very dangerous weather events. In that sense, Alejandro García said that Cuban experience in disaster preparedness can be applied in various ways in The Bahamas.
Obie Roberts listed different areas in which Cuba could share the knowledge of its experienced professionals, particularly in the areas of health and education with benefits for the Bahamian population.
