Nassau, February 16th, 2020. This Sunday morning, under a strong Caribbean sun, the Association of Cuban Residents "Ismaelillo" and the Cuban Embassy in this city organized a baseball game to celebrate the Day of Love and Friendship. Cubans residents, teachers of the Educational Brigade, pharmacists and members of the diplomatic mission fraternized in a match between "The Little Champions" and "The Hurricanes of the Caribbean."
Despite the heat and overcoming the lack of daily training, in addition to the unsurpassed passing of the years, the players of both teams showed mastery and sports delivery, with a final score of 9 to 8 favorable to "The Little Champions." From this result, adjustments will begin to be made with a view to confronting a team from the Blue Hill Stadium, the field on which the game was played.
The administrators of the stadium enjoyed the game and asked the embassy to set a date for a friendly match in the coming weeks. The team "The Hurricanes of the Caribbean" evidenced baseball power, although two of its members were injured, the teacher Gilberto and the physician Lorenzo.
The Embassy of Cuba and the Association of Cubans Residents "Ismaelillo" thanked Rowena Sutherland, director of culture of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas for helping to coordinate the game. Among friends, and with the love for Cuba and baseball in between, the Cubans in The Bahamas enjoyed a fun and different Sunday.
