The nomination of the Henry Reeve Medical Brigade for the Nobel Peace award has continued to gain support in Saint Lucia

The nomination of the Henry Reeve Medical Brigade for the Nobel Peace award has continued to gain support in Saint Lucia. The National Medical and Dental Association through its President, Doctor Merle Clarke, and the Guild of Cuban Graduates, also through its President, Jamal Francis, have conveyed to the Embassy of Cuba their support for this nomination as a sign of the recognition of the humanitarian work of the Cuban health professionals, represented in the Henry Reeve Brigade.

The Patriotic Association of Cuban Residents in Saint Lucia also joined in supporting this campaign. In this way, these organizations subscribe to the initiative of the Humanistic Solidarity Association (Saint Lucia - Cuba), which previously and through a broad communiqué, highlighted the Cuban health workers as example of international medical cooperation and supported the campaign of French organizations to award the Henry Reeve Brigade with the Peace Nobel Prize. The Henry Reeve Brigade, formed in 2005, is present today in 28 countries, including Saint Lucia since March 27th. Its 113 members work actively in all the health centers of the island, assisting in the fight against Covid 19 and they represent the best values of solidarity, cooperation and friendship that unite Cuba and Saint Lucia. Totally more than 30 000 Cuban health professionals are working in all the continents, including islands in the Pacific Ocean.
