Athens, 16 September. The photographic exhibition “With Cuba in the heart”, was inaugurated in the Labor Center, in the Athenian neighborhood of Nueva Smirny, whose board organized the event together with the Embassy of Cuba in Greece. The exhibition is the work of Jose Oriol Marrero Martinez embassy counselor and it will be on display throughout September. This exhibition has already been presented 15 times in cities in Greece.
At the inauguration Dimitris Zervas took the floor on behalf of the center; Cuba's ambassador to Greece Zelmys Maria Dominguez Cortina greeted the event, and thanked for the solidarity with Cuba of the Greek friends and reaffirmed the importance of showing the reality of sovereign Cuba that stands beautiful, victorious and humanist despite the unjust economic, commercial and financial blockade of the mighty northern neighbor, the USA. Then the author, the counselor Jose Oriol Marrero Martinez, explained the presents the content of the exhibition that shows the reality of Cuba, its landscapes, its monuments, its beaches, its rivers, its people, its daily life. He noted that on this occasion, the exhibition was dedicated to Cuban doctors and paramedics who have fought and fight the battle against COVID-19 outside and within Cuba, and the 60th anniversary of the CDR (Committees for the Defense of the Revolution).
The audience toured the exhibition and then was able to enjoy projections of more photos of the author and Cuban music. It was an unforgettable and sense of love gathering between the peoples of Cuba and Greece, in a neighborhood of Athens, from image and memory.
