ICAP congratulates the Malaysia-Cuba Friendship Association on its 10th anniversary

Kuala Lumpur, October 13- The Asia and Oceania director of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples sent a congratulatory message to the president of the Malaysia-Cuba Friendship Association (FOCA) on the occasion of commemorating the 10th anniversary of its creation.

The letter refers that "during these ten years we have had the support of the friends of FOCA in solidarity events with Cuba and we have received their messages of encouragement in times of difficulty."

This association, which was officially inaugurated in October 2010 during the visit to Malaysia by Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, starts working in 2005 and has had four presidents since then: Dato Mukhriz Mahathir, Dato Mutana Abdullah, Mr Nazary Ahmad and its current president Mr Fahmy Khai.

It count among its members friends not only Malaysians but also from other nationalities residing in this country. Former Selangor Chief Minister Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim is at present its honorary president.
