Kingston, Jamaica, 10 November 2020. The Jamaican digital media WiredJa – viewed by more than two million users in the English-speaking Caribbean nations– Our Today –an independent digital news service based in Kingston– and Sunday Sun –the official newspaper of Jamaica’s opposition People's National Party– published this week articles on the exercise of religious freedom in our country.
In a letter to the editors, the Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica, Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, denounced the repeated inclusion of Cuba in the controversial “Special List” of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom as a unilateral, deliberate and dishonest move to convince international public opinion of an alleged lack of religious freedom in Cuba, and provided arguments that prove the respect and guarantees Cuban citizens enjoy in the exercise of this right throughout the Largest Island in the Antilles.
