Kuala Lumpur, December 18- The Cuban Ambassador to Malaysia, Ibete Fernández Hernández paid a courtesy visit to Tun Mahathir Mohamad former Prime Minister of Malaysia, on the occasion of the end of her term as head of mission.
During the meeting, which took place in a relaxed and cordial atmosphere, Mahathir highlighted the bonds of friendship that have united Cuba and Malaysia and said that he was pleased to have contributed to their development and at the same time pleaded for strengthening them in the future. He described Cuba as a country of solidarity and vowed that the United States develop a civilized relationship with our country that will lead to the end of the blockade.
Tun Mahathir developed a deep friendship with Commander in Chief Fidel Castro and together they promoted bilateral ties in different areas such as biotechnology, sports and culture.
