The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan, also coordinator of the Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Senate, Honorable Shibli Faraz, meets today the Ambassador of Cuba, Gabriel Tiel Capote, who made the visit to bid farewell at the end of his five-year mission in Pakistan. During the meeting, the two parties reviewed the excellent state of bilateral relations. The Minister highlighted the advanced development of Cuba in the field of health despite the blockade imposed by the United States and exposed the need to put an end to these unjust restrictions and sanctions against a country that stands in solidarity with the world. At the same time, he thanked the sending of 2,500 health professionals to Pakistan due to the 2005 earthquake and the award of 1,000 scholarships so that young Pakistanis could study medicine in Cuba. The Ambassador thanked him for his heartfelt words and emphasized the support that Pakistan has always offered to the Resolution calling for the lifting of the blockade. He highlighted the work carried out by his country during this year, despite this inhuman economic, commercial and financial blockade, intensified by the current US administration. At the same time, he updated him on the development of the ordering task, in particular the monetary and exchange rate and the salary increase.
