Abuja. April 8th, 2021. The Cuban Ambassador to Nigeria, Clara M. Pulido Escandell, received at the headquarters of the diplomatic mission Mrs. Mary Olodoun, Deputy Director, of the Directorate of Bilateral Agreements, Commonwealth and African Affairs, of the Ministry of Education of Nigeria.
The meeting highlighted the historical ties, including in the branch of education, that have characterized the relations between the two countries. A large group of Cuban professionals have provided their support in the African nation and more than a hundred young Nigerians have graduated from Cuban universities, mainly from the medical school, ELAM, and are currently serving in different parts of their country.
The parties present agreed on the importance of continuing to promote and deepen cooperation in the field of education, which is vitally important for the future development of our peoples.
On the Nigerian side, officials from the Nigerian Ministry of Education itself also participated, while on the Cuban side, the Counsellor of the Cuban diplomatic mission in that country, Pavel Bauzá, was present.
